Deg-Bhapka Traditional Distillation
Our attars are produced using the ancient Deg-Bhapka method — a copper still heated by sandalwood fire. Unlike modern high-pressure extraction, this process uses low, consistent heat over 12–16 hours, consuming a fraction of the energy required by industrial steam distillation. No synthetic accelerators, no chemical solvents.
Recyclable Glass Bottles
Every Sugandh Ink fragrance is housed in premium glass bottles that are fully recyclable. Our caps are made from sustainably sourced wood and aluminium — no plastic components. We encourage our collectors to refill or repurpose their bottles. A return-and-refill programme is in development.
Minimal Packaging, No Cellophane
Our outer boxes are crafted from recycled board and printed with soy-based inks. We use shredded kraft paper for cushioning instead of plastic bubble wrap. No cellophane, no shrink wrap, no single-use plastic lines our packaging. Each box is designed to be kept, reused, or composted.
Vegan & Cruelty-Free
All Sugandh Ink compositions are 100% vegan. We never test on animals, nor do we commission third parties to do so. Our raw materials are sourced from ethical growers who share this commitment. We are proudly certified cruelty-free.
Local Sourcing, Reduced Footprint
We prioritise direct relationships with growers across India — rose and jasmine from Rajasthan, vetiver from Kerala, agarwood from Assam, sandalwood from Mysore. By sourcing domestically and working with traditional cooperatives, we minimise air miles while preserving generational knowledge.
Our Pledge
We are committed to continuous improvement. As we grow, we will invest in carbon offset programs, eliminate remaining virgin materials from our supply chain, and publish annual sustainability reports. True luxury respects the earth that makes it possible.
